As a licensed mental health therapist, I am committed to providing compassionate care tailored to your unique needs. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your journey toward healing and growth. Your mental health matters, and I am committed to walking with you every step of the way.

Get set to meet your new therapist Alex Sprouse, LPC—the friendly smile ready to greet you at Courage Counseling!

Alex Sprouse is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Owner and Co-founder of Courage Counseling, PLLC, where she also serves as a therapist. An Arkansas native, she graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2008 where she obtained a B.A. while double majoring in History and Classical Studies.  Inspired by her work as a Behavioral Instructor at a children's residential treatment facility, she went on to receive her M.A. in Counseling with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Alex is skilled in treating mental health disorders and issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem and body image, disordered eating, and addictive behaviors.  While using a multi modal approach tailored to each individual client's needs, she specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  She is also in the process of becoming certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (CERP), considered the gold-standard for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) treatment. She has experience with all age groups and provides individual, couple's/family, and group therapy services.

As part of her own mental health and self-care, Alex is a proud and dedicated "fur-mom" to her two dogs, Albus and Athena, and her cat Levi. A self-described fantasy/sci-fi "nerd", she also loves flowers of any kind, playing board games with family, re-watching episodes of The Office, and learning about ancient history. She often incorporates her love of arts/crafts to share the benefits of creativity and expression with her clients.
